pointer Administration and enforcement of the City of Lynn's Subdivision Control Rules and Regulations.
pointer Responsible for administering Chapter 40A (The Zoning Act) and Chapter 41 (Municipal Planning and Subdivision Legislation). Some duties include endorsement of approval not required plans and subdivision plans, rezoning's, abandonment of streets, tree hearings, etc.
pointer The purpose of these By-Laws is to protect the wetlands, related water resources, and adjoining land areas in Lynn, Massachusetts by regulating or prohibiting activities deemed by the Lynn Conservation Commission (L.C.C.) likely to have a significant or cumulative effect upon resource area values, including but not limited to the following: public or private water supply, ground water, flood control, erosion and sedimentation control, storm damage prevention including coastal storm flowage, water quality, water pollution control, fisheries, shellfish, wildlife habitat, rare species habitat including rare plant species, agriculture, aqua culture, and recreation values, deemed important to the community (collectively, the "resource area values protected by these By-Laws").
These By-Laws are intended to utilize the Home Rule authority of this municipality to protect additional resource areas, for additional values, with additional standards and procedures stricter than those of the Wetlands Protection Act, G. L. Ch. 131, S.40, and Regulations there under, 310 CMR 10.00.
