This division is responsible for the following tasks:

Enforcement of the Massachusetts Building Codes, including review of plans and issuance of permits for construction, repair, and alteration of buildings and all applicable inspections. This division is also responsible for the issuance of occupancy certifications under the Massachusetts Building Code and response to violations of this code.

Enforcement of the Lynn Zoning Ordinance.

Enforcement of violations to the Massachusetts Building Code.

Administrative operations of the Zoning Board of Appeals, Board of Examiners and the Planning Board.
